BREAKFAST IN AN OLD FASHION WAY

I could not remember when was the last time I had the mom's fried rice. Usually had this during my school days and lazy to get up from bed. So the mom would pack my breakfast and I would enjoy it during the break hours.

I still failed in keeping the sweetness yet slightly crunchy in my onions. Mom, how do you do it anyway. I follow your instruction; yet failed each time.

WILD EATING

Not long ago I celebrated CNY, and soon (~march) will have  another ritual ceremony to our ancestors (visiting the cemetery - cheng beng). Just knew it after visited traditional market with the mom yesterday. Families who are abroad will coming back again. Another big dinner again.

These days, the props are getting fancy and fancier. Soon, they might make Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Longchamp etc. Even the mom would asked me which is which is nicer.

Oh~ they do have Gucci wallet *face palm*. Lucky my families are not in that extreme to buy these kind of props.

Later on, my friends came over and together we left for food hunt at Sunggal. I have never been there though it is quite near my neighborhood. Soon as we arrived there, it was so crowded and we had to stand in queue.

Fyi, all of us already had lunch before but…left some space for "snacks" again. uh oh, I'm smelling fats.

Never getting enough, bought some snacks home again. phew~ stomach about to explode anytime soon.

It was too full to sit any coffee shop and drink so decided to go for karaoke which we haven't done it for quite some time already. We are not that good but not really bad either. Okay I am a little tone deaf ha ha ha~

At first, it was a little gloomy because we are not a great singer, picked all those ballads. Haih all heartbroken songs...in the end, I picked some Korean songs to which I don't really master it at all. At least it changed the atmosphere into a brighter.

The highlight was, Whitney Houston's I will always love you. Oh-Ho! low average singers to sing that song????? you would never want to imagine it. HA HA HA~

It was dinner time as we wrapped up our terrible concert.  Went to Chinatown [Jl. Selat Panjang].

Now, calculating how much calories do I have in a day??? oh my~ seems like I need no food a 7 days.

BYE DIETS HELLO GREASY FOODS

Saturday also have to go for work and Today, I must have been bang on my head. I got up from bed 5.30 a.m, had my breakfast (2 pieces of cookies and "Valunto" espresso) doesn't sound like a breakfast ya...Later on, I got ready myself for work. It was only 7 a.m, when i left home; decided to buy another cup of coffee *AGAIN* at Dunkin Donut. Looked at the fresh baked donuts, I was tempted to buy but already had my so called breakfast.

Thanks to the mom who had bought these old fashion snacks home. It's been a while since I had them (already forgot when was the last time I had them).

Kue bola with gula melaka innards. It's sweet but not that sweet. Heavenly delicious.

Fried Banana. Though I prefer Steamed Banana but it tastes great after long time not eating the fried one.

SPAGHETTI RAMEN

I planned to cook abalone porridge since last night which I bought them quite a long time. Who knows it's written "2011" ha ha ha~ It was not my first time to be like this. Shame on me, really should fix the bad habit I have.

In the end, I had Spaghetti Ramen. Luckily it isn't in a big portion. I couldn't eat that much in the morning *really?* oh well I've been acknowledge by my families and friends that I own a stomach of "Nafsu gede, stamina loyo" [big appetite, weak stamina] HA HA HA~ They must be very frightened of me now. I always say "yes, just order it...this one too, this this and this one". I only eat a bite, the rest...you know who will finish them . HA HA HA~

LEMPER AYAM

I never really care about my health lately. I shouldn't eat too much of glutinous rice due to mild gastric.

I bought them when I visited Binjai *pretty late ya~*. Sadly it turned out not really that good. Perhaps I refrigerated them for quite long he he he~

Highlight of the day : I was surprised by the dad's call who is apparently on his business trip. Told me that his flight which I bought was invalid *SHOCKED* how it could be happening!!! At the end, it was his mistake to inform its booking code *Haaaaaaaaa.......ihhhhhhhhh had a slight heart-attack*

LEMANG WITH MUCH CARE

These days, the Dad seemed to put lots of care towards me. It must be hurting to see one of her daughters who used to be the most active in house; has become drastically quiet. I truly sorry towards my family.*promise will overcome all my problems and be noisy in house again*

This morning he bought Lemang (glutinous rice in bamboo) which one of my favorite foods. Hahaha~ actually I eat about everything. No wonder I gain weight that easy.

It was a tiring Sunday but fun. From morning till night, I've been driving in-&-out of town. It was Sunday, the traffic were pretty heavy. I had to bite my tongue when some tortoise speed drivers in front of me but I could not get rid of them.

There wasn't much selection of restaurants we could go if the Dad comes along. He is too fond into Chinese food.

I love Sate Sagoli so much. Its peanut sauce is rich~

Super crunchy Apum.

The well known Binjai Ifu-mie.

Nasi Campur Agus.

WANNA BUY MY YOUTH

I was invited to my niece's 17th birthday. *Happy sweet seventeen~*. In the same time, I was lending a hand to be her freelance photographer. It was my first time and don't know if she would like my amateur results *cross fingers*

As I was taking photographs of the party, overheard the 17-year-old conversation and observed the way speaking of theirs; made me giggled. I've been like that too - I'm already 17 and telling the parents "hey, it's my life". Let me decide what I want. I am an adult now. Now I could see how innocent I was back then. I would say 17, is the beginning to learn about the real world.

It was a buffet party. [clockwise] Barbecued chicken, Rendang sapi, Dendeng Ikan, Gado-Gado, and some salted fish chili chips with peanuts.

Rojak as dessert but I had no chance to eat it because of on duty taking photographs *now I want it~*

A must have food during birthday - Fried noodles. Happy Sweet-Seven-Teen Madeleine - may you cherish your youth and your dreams~

Off to sleep now~

INTERNATIONAL DRIVING PERMIT

After doing some research about the requirement for driving at Je-ju Island; a person needs an international driving permit in order to renting a car. At first, I thought of skipping it but the private guide which I still contacted since my visit to Korea last April. She recommended me to apply one before going there.

I can not stop imagining myself driving under the sea of golden leaves *autumn*

U-YEN [FRIED TARO]

Last Sunday, I stopped over at Jl. Sabaruddin and bought these u-yen / fried taro. I always had this for lunch during my high school because it was easier and faster.

I am not sure if it is a healthy food or not but it tastes good and filled my hungry stomach ha ha ha~

Without its chili sauce is already nice. Together is FIREWORKS.

argh… hate being fat but I love greasy foods.

PRE-HAPPY BIRTHDAY

As usual, I hung out with the girls and talked about our weekly activities. Sometimes I am amazed by our bonds. Though we shared text messaging everyday, still we have abundance of gossips to share when it is Sunday. Girls girls girls…

LOVELY SUNDAY

Last Sunday, I canceled my date with the mom *who is still enjoying her vacation*; This morning, Let's a date with the dad. Early morning, we already left for breakfast and borrowing drove with my sister's new car. Along the way to have our breakfast, as usual the dad is the one who talk the most *political*. Though I read news everyday, still have a shallow thoughts >_<

Before we headed home, the dad also showed me some of the properties which he will likely to invest. I really admire his strong will. Really i should have a little gene from him.

I was shocked with the whitney Houston's dead as soon as I watched TV. Because the day before, I shared some thoughts with my friends about singing "I will always love you" at wedding party.

Okay back to the main: I was bored by watching tv alone so I asked my friends to go out which they prefer after lunch time. And cooking just came through in my mind.

Looked over the fridge and saw the left-over green onion for making kimchi last week and decided just to have korean pancake *recipe: aeri.

Crispy outside, fluffy inside and less oil in my pajeon. It's good.

And kimchi to maintain my healthy life. *it's a kimchi which my brother bought from Korea. My kimchi is still in fermentation.

Okay I am off to meet my friends now. Have a nice Sunday ^___^

MY NAPA KIMCHI

I was challenged by my sister when she said that it is not good to consume too much preservative foods. to which I always had factory made Kimchi. She suggested to make my own Kimchi instead and I hope that no one would be sent to hospital because of food poisoning he he he~

I did my Kimchi at night (8pm) and finished it by the next day (2 am). It is indeed time consuming and works. Because I am a newbie and tended to look at the notes for many times. So no photos while I was doing my Kimchi.
I followed the recipe from Aeri. Her kimchi looks promising and I also wanting my kimchi to taste good. Wish me luck! *waiting for a week fermentation*

LOW CALORIE RAMYEON

Still remember the noodles which I bought together with Bam Man Jyu and arrived just before CNY.

The reason I bought them because of their low-calorie in-take and their alluring graphic packages. I always tempting to buy things with nice packaging which is bad ha ha ha~

I am an early person but lazy to prepare a proper breakfast.  Thanks to this Bibim-myeon, aside it takes less time preparation and filling my tummy too.

The glass noodles doesn't need to be cook under fire but just run into cold water for 20-30 seconds. *yeah I read its instruction first - unlike my Ramen Bokki*.

Then pour in the mild spicy sauce and enjoy~.

Bokkeum Jjamppong. If I am not mistakenly translated; seafood fried noodles.

Tada~ the noodles is a bit thicker than bibim-myeon. This noodles and its vegetables needs to be cook under fire but not for long (30s - 1m). And after finished it, my lips went a little numb because of its spiciness.

Tomato Spaghetti. Because of the heavy rain, I was trapped inside the house and cook this noodles which washed away my loneliness at home.

The noodles is thin flat almost look like a rice noodles but more chewy. Its tomato sauce is so rich. I like this the best.
