WILD EATING

Not long ago I celebrated CNY, and soon (~march) will have  another ritual ceremony to our ancestors (visiting the cemetery - cheng beng). Just knew it after visited traditional market with the mom yesterday. Families who are abroad will coming back again. Another big dinner again.

These days, the props are getting fancy and fancier. Soon, they might make Burberry, Prada, Gucci, Longchamp etc. Even the mom would asked me which is which is nicer.

Oh~ they do have Gucci wallet *face palm*. Lucky my families are not in that extreme to buy these kind of props.

Later on, my friends came over and together we left for food hunt at Sunggal. I have never been there though it is quite near my neighborhood. Soon as we arrived there, it was so crowded and we had to stand in queue.

Fyi, all of us already had lunch before but…left some space for "snacks" again. uh oh, I'm smelling fats.

Never getting enough, bought some snacks home again. phew~ stomach about to explode anytime soon.

It was too full to sit any coffee shop and drink so decided to go for karaoke which we haven't done it for quite some time already. We are not that good but not really bad either. Okay I am a little tone deaf ha ha ha~

At first, it was a little gloomy because we are not a great singer, picked all those ballads. Haih all heartbroken songs...in the end, I picked some Korean songs to which I don't really master it at all. At least it changed the atmosphere into a brighter.

The highlight was, Whitney Houston's I will always love you. Oh-Ho! low average singers to sing that song????? you would never want to imagine it. HA HA HA~

It was dinner time as we wrapped up our terrible concert.  Went to Chinatown [Jl. Selat Panjang].

Now, calculating how much calories do I have in a day??? oh my~ seems like I need no food a 7 days.

EAT LIKE NO TOMORROW

It was a tiring Sunday but fun. From morning till night, I've been driving in-&-out of town. It was Sunday, the traffic were pretty heavy. I had to bite my tongue when some tortoise speed drivers in front of me but I could not get rid of them.

There wasn't much selection of restaurants we could go if the Dad comes along. He is too fond into Chinese food.

It was already 3pm when I was in rush to pick up the girls and headed to Binjai. Many thanks to Aik and Cris who had been serving us warmly.

I love Sate Sagoli so much. Its peanut sauce is rich~

Super crunchy Apum.

The well known Binjai Ifu-mie.

Nasi Campur Agus.

Fried Frog.

Another version - Butter Fried Frog.

Mixed Fruits.

MY WAR DURING CNY

I used to really like the mood of Chinese New Year especially when I was still a kid - new clothes, red pockets and COOKIES ; to which most parents will not allowing their kids to consume much. And only during this occasion, I had the chance to eat cookies.

As I grew older, I'm getting afraid whenever CNY is coming. I would let my mouth wide open and eat all those tempting cookies by myself *sigh*

Milk Flavor.

Chocolate Flavor.

Cereal Cookies. Not the kind like coco crunch or its friends. It is the type of cereal that packed in a sachet and only need to pour hot water. You know it right? *blink*

Peanut Choco-chips cookies. This is bought by my sister. First time ever had this kind of cookies during CNY and the taste quite good because it's CHOCOLATE and who doesn't like it? ha ha ha~

Pineapple tart. This has become my top-list during CNY. I would compete my speed of eating it together with my sisters but I didn't do it anymore. I'm holding it back now because of my weight issue *sigh*

*no idea what it is called ha ha ha~. All I know that I would let the cookies itself melt inside my mouth.

Kue Lapis. This was specially made by my late uncle's wife. Most of her pastries are delicious. Her Kue Lapis; I could never find any better outside. *still hold #1 in my list* ^___^

Family Dinner [Lunar New Year] at Jade Marriott

Last Saturday, I and family had a dinner at Jade Marriott which has been reserved two weeks before in welcoming the Dragon Year. Aside of its attentive waiters, the food itself is really disappointment.

Starter - This has been a booming in my hometown. I used to have this back then at KL.

Shark fin Soup - It was not great nor bad. And there was a little amount of shark fin. Perhaps of the rare goods in the market.

The prawns were boiled and covered with mayonnaise.

Broccoli.Clams.Sea Cucumber.

Lotus Fried Rice. I prefer our dad's fried rice. *oh~ craving for it now*

Sweet and Sour Fish - Without its sauce, the fish is bland taste.

Bakul fritter - too hard.

Dragon Fruit - nice theme was given by the chef.

Bubur Taiwan

Today I had hot coffee, plain sweet potatoes porridge and eggplants.

This restaurant is one of my top list whenever the mom is away for vacation. It serves a home-cook dishes which the portion is just right to my tummy  (petite).
