SMALL CELEBRATION

Birthday party doesn't have to be banquet. As long as you are celebrating with closed one, you would feel grateful won't you? Last Tuesday, we had a little birthday celebration with Ev at one of our favorite and trusted cafe in town. I am not sure since when she was called as Jengkol and we actually gave a kilo of it as her gift. 

We made it as a jewelery set. I have never tried Jengkol which I heard most of the times, your weewee will have unpleasant smell so no-thank-you to give it a try he he he~

 

We arrived late and most of the dished sold out. Finally I had this honey chicken for dinner. Though my food was served but I had no chance to have a bite because of the birthday girl insisted me took as many pictures of her. She didn't know that I've been starving and about to collapse.

A LITTLE BREAK AT BREEKS CAFE

Feeling like I am going to fall sick anytime soon. Or is it because of the weather these days. It is extremely hot outside. If not because of hunting a gift for Woongkook; we (Sylvia, Merry, and me) wouldn't have going out today and stayed at home. 

SUN Plaza is crowded and it is no surprise anymore.  Not just myself, but Sylvia and Merry also felt so dizzy because of the crowds. Quickly we bought the gift, and tried to find a place to settle our dizziness which is another adventure. Lucky Breeks cafe have some seat for us.

Merry had had her lunch by 5 noon. Sadly she had to eat a overly dry Chic Strips Pasta. *too dry*

Sylvia is being excited for her autumn korea soon *9 months to-go*, Kept questioning what to prepare. Being a little proud *grin*; Merry and me who had placed our feet on the land of the morning calm, telling our great escapades last spring 2011.  

The more we were narrating our stories, the more excited Sylvia is. In a glance, our Waffle Fries was quickly finished. Yeah we were talking much about Korean street foods that must be eaten during our stay. *a sudden hunger strikes now…*

I can't wait for my autumn escapades too~ enjoying hot Americano and  Brownies during cold weather is more delicious he he he~

Dunkin Donut

Morning~ Have you dunked your donuts? The day before, I bought some donuts for my breakfast. Though I want to try most of them; sadly Dunkin' Donuts tends to be hardened if you consume them until the next day.

Bought only 2 Donuts and accompanied by Nespresso Decaffeinated Lungo.

Yeah I successfully spoiled my Chocolate Donuts.

It was gloomy every single day. To avoid the rain, I drove myself to Fusion Bistro. There was only one customer as I reached; which was a surprised due to lunch hour.

French Chicken Sandwich - IDR 46.2K. Despite its over-fried fries, the sandwich is good.

But where was my Americano? They have forgotten my order. In the end, I canceled it.

A re-visited to Bakerzin. I was driving here and there as I waited for my friends. I was not hungry at all; in the end, I ordered Waffle Ice Cream - IDR 47.5K

I am not usually a sweet-tooth type but it was a nice treat. Yummy~

Was it because I'm alone? I had a bitter Americano.

Lekker Urban Food House

It was a little too early for dinner but my friends have not had their meals since lunch. Hahaha I could see from their vampire-look-alike as they came to meet me. At that moment, they wanted to eat just about anything so I gave few choices and decided to have our early dinner at Lekker.

They must have been so starving and could not wait until their main courses to be made. They ate Nasi Perang for free. Okay. It was unintentional action. We just realized (already left the place) that the PIC has forgotten to put in our bill.

Clockwise: Mango Pomelo Sago - IDR 28K. Aloevera Strawberry - IDR 28K. Strawberry Candy Punch - IDR 28K.

Oxtail Steak with Garlic Bread - IDR 45K. It tasted perfect except for being salty.

Nasi Ayam Panggang Sumbawa - IDR 30K. I was amazed with its palm size chicken drumstick. So BIG.

Spicy Hell Pizza - IDR 55K. RECOMMENDED.

Salad Bali - IDR 25K. Too sweet for me.

Could not get a good sleep the day before. It is SUNDAY but I was already well dressed by 8 a.m and the next thing I could do is nothing.

I remember that Wak Noer is going to have a breakfast, starting by January 2012. And to find the notice attached in front of its door "The breakfast menu will be starting 20th January 2012" so I ended up at Matador Country. It has been months I didn't come here since I have been re-located at the new office.

Finally had my car for check-up after a month overdue hehehe. I went straight to Cambridge City Square for lunch and sat at Dante Coffee Shop.

I had myself a regular blend coffee (Americano) - IDR 20K and Mushroom Chicken Steak Mashed Potato - IDR 55K.

The chicken is a bit dry, mushroom sauce is too salty for my taste bud and the vegetables is over cooked

Tasty corn.

Mashed Potato is fine.

Fusion Bistro

It's getting confusing every time the Mom is on vacation. My restaurant list is limited. In a week, I could go back to twice for the same menu. Very pathetic indeed. Since it's Saturday which is no busy hustle at work so I could spent more hours outside and visited Fusion Bistro.

I had Chicken Focaccia (IDR 50+) for lunch. Overall is alright except for its over fried fries.

061 Bistro

 

 

061 Bistro is a new Cafe in town. I am not sure if the "061" is the number of this cafe or it is intentionally use the number "061" to represent Medan (region code)?? anyway I find it is interesting.

 

 Serabi Durian. The serabi was enervate and the sauce was too watery for my taste.

Pansit Keju. Because the pansit was placed on top of wasabi mayonnaise, the innards of the pansit will become soften and the taste won't be that good already.

Grown up and stuck (currently) in a small city like Medan; there were not much I can do when weekend is at the corner. Definitely Medan is a slow slow city where I prefer to spend my weekends at cafes.


Rumah Kopi Wak Noer designated in a homey American style definitely attracts youngster to pay a visit, take a snapshot and upload it right into facebook account.

Gelato Bar

Located in the center of city. Gelato Bar is easily to be found. The main traits of this cafe is gelato but I never been a fan so skip that.

G*Bar Salad

It was a hot day and I was not that hungry. Salad just knocked my mind.Okay that's one of the reasons. The other reason is - I'm on diet.

I ordered G*bar salad. A various vegetables and added up a meat from 3 choices - chicken, salmon and beef. The vegetables is fresh and crunchy in every bite. Its dressing is neither too sweet nor too spicy. Together, the salad and the dressing created a nice chemistry in your mouth; refresh.

Baby Potatoes

I couldn't skip carbs especially potatoes. Baby Potatoes is diced in one-bite size. It was roasted and sprinkled with cheese to liven up its flavor. It should have been roasted a little longer so that have a perfect crunch but it was okay to taste.

Mocca

To closing my lunch. A cup of coffee is a must. I ordered Espresso Mocca. Believe it or not; it is not as bitter as I ever thought. The bitterness of espresso slowly subsides and then sweetness comes to finish a wonderful taste. 

Here are some dishes which were ordered by my brother; Pasta Aglio Olio with Salmon and Chicken Caesar Salad. I didn't give a bite but according to his taste buds;tThey were alright.
